Part 1 of Our Genting Holiday: FREEZE

22 Mar

Shucks. The hubby blogged about our holiday first, before I did!

But anyway.. we finally went for our first official holiday out of Sabah last week. Not outside of Malaysia, just to Genting Highlands, since he has always wanted to bring me there. I’ve never been there too, so you just can’t imagine my excitement throughout this trip!

I won’t talk so much about the whole trip on this post (will blog about it in several different posts) but I will say this: I LOVE Genting!! I wanna go there again and try ALL the rides!

You also get to see many different types of people here, some of them showing off their fashion sense in branded clothing, branded bags, and even some trendy maternity dresses. But I salute to some of them who just wore shorts and heels when the weather was 15 degrees, and it was so windy outside! I get the shivers just thinking back about it! Brrr!!

But the highlight of our holiday was definitely the ice-skating performance called Freeze, which we watched it on our third and final night there.

With only RM68 per person (if you’re a Worldcard member) for the normal seats, it was definitely worth it!

Well, we kind of regretted not taking the VIP seats, which were much closer to the stage and to the rink! Oh well.

The entrance to the show and where we bought our tickets, the Genting International Showroom

After our dinner, we waited with the rest of the guests in front of the glass door, and as soon as they opened the door, there were pushing and shoving; everybody wanted to go in as fast as they could! I mean, duh.. it’s assigned seating, so did you all really have to rush inside??

Sheesh.

How the stage/ skating rink looks like. It’s too bad we couldn’t take any photos/videos during the performance :(

If any of you are curious FREEZE, then you must watch the short video below!

I wanna go watch it again!

Birthday..

27 Feb

WC and I were watching an old movie a few days ago, and that movie talked about how important it is to celebrate your birthday.

Well, speaking of birthdays, mine is coming up in just a couple more weeks! So E.X.C.I.T.E.D.!

I really have no idea on what WC will give me this year, but I sure hope it’s not cad headphones! Not to say that they’re bad, no not at all! I just meant I just hope he won’t give me headphones in general, because he had already bought me one last year! It just wouldn’t make sense for him to give me another one, right? Right.

But anyway, a week after my birthday, we will finally be going away for a few days for our ‘official’ honeymoon! Gosh, it’s been 8 months since we got married, and can you believe that we still haven’t gotten away to properly relax and enjoy our honeymoon?? Sheesh!

We got married 8 years after meeting each other, and 8 months later, we are finally going away for our first honeymoon. Haha coincidence! :)

So am really looking forward to that!

But I can’t be thinking too much about that now. My mind is still on the payroll matter at the office! It was rudely interrupted just now (no electricity) and it was my first time doing it! Stressed okay! Argh!

Hello!

17 Feb

I mentioned about going into a new chapter in life on my previous post right?

Well, it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve started working in my new workplace (how time flies!), and the verdict?

Like most new workplaces, it has its pros & cons.

Pros:

  • Lunch is provided each day at the office for free! The boss’ maid actually comes to the office and cooks for us, and her food is good! Also, I’ve had salmon for  quite a few times at the office now, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually kinda tired of eating salmon now! (And I used to NEVER get tired of eating salmon! @_@)
  • Free parking! Gone are the days where I was always worried about getting my car scratched. Now, I just park at the car park nearest to my office window so I could keep an eye on it.
  • No need to look at airline websites everyday and do comparisons on which airline is cheaper. It can be very frustrating, especially when the Internet line is down, or the airline website is down, or when we couldn’t get an answer from the boss immediately and had to check and compare again the next day.
  • Allowance/incentives for staffs. We don’t have to just depend on our basic salary. Love this! :D
  • Cool multifunction printer at the office. It is not only a photocopy machine, but it is also a printer and a fax machine! How cool is that? We sure didn’t have this at the old workplace!
  • We can get wholesale price on food! Today I bought some grapes at a cheap price. They are oh-so sweet and fresh, too! Nice!

Cons (Yes there are some!):

  • Long working hours. This actually is my main complaint about my new workplace (as compared to my old one, that is). Here, they work a 5.5 day week, start at 8am and ends at 5.30pm (Saturday 1/2 day). When I was still working at my old place, I would wake up at 7.40am, get ready for work and leave at 8.15am. Then I’d put on my makeup AFTER having my breakfast. But now? I have to wake up at 6am (but always ended up snoozing my alarm clock until 6.15am -_-) get ready, put on makeup, and if I still have time, eat breakfast (if no time, then just eat biscuits at office, sigh). Leave the house at 7.20am, arrive office around 7.45am (depending on traffic). And I mentioned we finish work at 5.30pm right? But we cannot leave immediately at that time. I sure miss the old times when I used to arrive home from work no later than 5.20pm. Nowadays, I always arrive home around 6.15-ish pm. And by then I’d be so tired to cook dinner. Sigh. :(
  • Traffic jam. To and from work. Urgh. Didn’t have to go through that before. I sure miss the care-free driving.
  • No own room. No privacy!
  • No receptionist. I actually hate picking up the phone, but what to do? Everybody have to pick up the phone at the office! That’s why people say.. don’t say hate, or you will end up getting it!
  • No more time for zumba. Yup, since I always reach home after 6pm, I have to say byebye to zumba class. Guess it’s just zumba at home then.

But I sure welcome new challenge in life. Learning new things at the office and be away from my comfort zone.. I welcome them all. :)
