Selamat Hari Raya 2008!

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

I changed the previous post title, and I thought this post is more apt.

Took this pic of the Likas Mosque just now (saw that it was slightly in renovation, but oh well, took it anyway!) and I thought I just had to have a quick pic of it to put on my blog!

So I did, and so here it is. Selamat Hari Raya ‘08 to all my Muslim readers! :)

Call Me Superstitious But..

handbag.jpgI just don’t leave my handbag on the floor! Ask anyone who’s been out dining with me; they can surely vouch this fact for me! I always have my handbag on my lap, no matter how big or how heavy or even how uncomfortable it is having it on my lap. ALWAYS!

Which is why, whenever I saw those ladies in The Hills series eating out and just putting their handbags on the floor, it just gets on my nerves! Firstly, is it really that safe to put your handbags on the floor like that?? Passersby can just pick it up and run away with it!

Secondly, I don’t know about you guys but I totally believe on the handbag-on-the-floor superstition..

“Don’t put your purse on the floor or you’ll stay broke.”

I’m a firm believer of this; don’t ask me why. And whatever superstition that has to do with money, you can bet that I follow it!

Haven’t heard of this superstition? Here’s an explanation:

“This is an old superstition, which says that we shouldn’t keep our handbags on the floor if we want to have money coming in. With your handbag, the problem is that you are both physically and symbolically putting your money on the dirty floor down by your feet, which can be interpreted as you are disrespecting your wealth. If you want to keep your money, you have to respect it. A symbolic way of respecting it by putting it in a nice place like on the table, a chair or your lap.” [source]

So there you go. I don’t expect y’all to follow what I believe in, I just wanna let you ladies (and guys) know, since a few of you have asked about this.
