Why I’m Abandoning KK Food For Now

28 Jul

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

Remember this post? I posted that earlier this month.

I talked about Winter Sonata in that post, and yes, WC and I have FINALLY finished watching the drama last night! Phew! 20 episodes.. all done!

Now that that’s over, I can once again go back to my sewing, which I have abandoned for about a week now, due to watching this drama! Tsk tsk!

I’m also itching to get started on sewing clothes now; not sophisticated ones, just simple ones, like dresses, or blouses or skirts.. things like that. But before that can happen, I gotta complete all my bag orders first! My apologies to those of you who have been waiting and waiting for your bags! They’ll be completed by end of this week, ya! Mianhae! (that’s in Korean, btw)

Also..

A lot of you have asked me why I have stopped writing in my food blog.. and the reason is simple: I really don’t like an eatery that doesn’t keep up its quality of food (yes, QC matter). One day it’s delicious, another day it’s super lousy.. how am I supposed to blog about eateries like that? Am I supposed to edit my posts the next time and say that I have been there again recently, but this time the food was lousy?

And like last night, WC and I tried an eatery at 1Borneo that we have never been before. The place was big and looked grand, but it was surprisingly very empty. We went there without high hopes on the food being good at all (cuz let’s face it.. if the place is empty, it usually means that the food isn’t good, right?), and we were surprised that we were wrong. The food WAS delicious, despite the lack of customers at the restaurant. I’ve even taken pics of the food and place, and when WC was paying the bill, he commented to the lady boss there:

“Wow the food here is really good oh, Lao Pan Liang!”

And she replied:

“Of course lah!! If not how can I open this place so big one oh?? Adoiii!!”

Gosh.. we were so surprised at her reply! We kept quiet after that and just left.

I’m sorry, but instead of thanking us for the comment, her unexpected reply (rudely said, I might add) straightaway made me cancel my plan of writing about the place. It’s not always about the food, it’s also about the service! Needless to say, we left that place vowing we won’t be going back there anymore. No matter how big your restaurant is, if there’s no people, think you can survive? Let’s just wait and see how long your restaurant will last then, shall we?

*exhales breath*

Anyways, that is why, with incidents like the above, plus other incidents like the food isn’t good etc. is what made me decide to abandon that blog for now. Until I have found an eatery that is really good no matter how many times I’ve been there, then only will I continue writing in that blog.

Sigh..

Whatever lah.. time to go and get back to work. If only I can turn down the blinds and do my sewing work instead, I’d be much happier! Hmm..

Cheerful 1 Minute, Gloomy The Next

08 Jun

Don’t you just hate it when you’re all cheerful and happy one minute, and then something bad has to come up and ruin the moment?

That’s what I’m going through.. sigh..

And yes, just like the photo above.. weather all nice and sunny one minute, then cloudy and gloomy the next..

Kota Kinabalu Twestival

10 Mar

I’m proud to say that I am part of this year’s Kota Kinabalu Twestival event, that will be held on 25th March 2010! Woohoo!

What is this KK Twestival, you ask?

…for the first time ever, the city of Kota Kinabalu will be involved in Twestival Global 2010, a global initiative to raise money for @Concern Worldwide to help kids all over the world who can’t afford to go to school get an education.

So just what is Twestival? In the simplest terms it’s a Twitter festival that happens one day, once a year where people get together for a tweet-up party to raise money for charity. Last year, there were 202 cities, 1,000+ volunteers and 10,000 donors that participated in Twestival Global 2009, raising over US$250k+ to fund the building of 55 wells that directly impacted and provided clean drinking water for 17,000 people in Uganda, Ethiopia and India. This year, Twestival is back in the name of education for kids, where 100% of the funds raised will go directly into education projects in the poorest communities in the world!

Since we only have 2.5 weeks till the day of the event we’ll need all the help we can get. We need volunteers and sponsors to make this event come to life in KK, and just like us you can help!

So why not be part of this exciting event? As mentioned above, you can help by either becoming volunteers, sponsors, or even just by spreading the word on your own blog!

You can read more about this on the official website of Kota Kinabalu Twestival!
