2 Weeks ago, my family and I attended a big Family Picnic Day at Tanjung Aru 3rd Beach.
This was a first because we’ve never had a picnic with relatives (including relatives visiting from the US at that time) before, so everybody was excited! Parents came from Tambunan the day before, and Mom as usual woke up early that Sunday morning to marinade the chicken wings and sausages to be BBQ’ed later that day!
Everybody was worried on how the weather will be like the next day too.. as it rained for several days in a row that week! I guess everyone was praying and crossing their fingers for a clear sky that Sunday!
And guess what?
It worked!
It was a beautiful sunny weather that Sunday morning and afternoon! No rain at all!
I guess other families had the same idea (to have a picnic by the beach) like us, because even though family members (was it parents? cousins? don’t remember) went there early morning, all the 1st and 2nd beach in Tanjung Aru were already booked by people! Same goes to 3rd beach!
Luckily they managed to secure a section wayyy deep in the 3rd beach area, and parents used a rope to block the way in so other people wouldn’t be able to go in! :p
I mean, we expected about 40 pax to come, so we need quite a big place with parking nearby, so we had no choice BUT to block the area! ;)
When SIL and I arrived there around 10.30am-ish, big bro and WC had already got the bbq pit fire going. We started bbq-ing not long after that!

See my white top? Biggest regret ever to wear that outfit that day! I got sunburnt badly! Argh! I’m so dark and tanned now, yuck!
And as I’m typing right now, I can see the skin on my shoulders peeling! Ewww!
I remembered to put sunblock on my hands and legs that day, but not my shoulders. And look what’s happening now! :(
Sigh.. anyways..
I said before that we expected about 40 pax to come to the picnic, right?
