If you’re one of the followers on my Twitter, then you would know that I was on leave on Wednesday.
I had also posted this photo online on that day:
We were actually on our way to Sipitang at that time, to attend my younger brother’s engagement ceremony!
And what d’ya know.. my dress matches the exact blue colour of the theme! LOL!
Well, the theme WAS blue, but it was scrapped at the last minute (hence different colour for each couple: parents, us, and big bro & SIL) but let’s not get into that.
Anyway..
Bro is kinda shy on having his photos here on the blog, so I guess I could only post this photo of the event:
The rings and the cake!
I had a hand in decorating the ring basket btw.. but only covering the handle! Haha. Mom and SIL were in-charged of decorating the gifts, whereas younger bro, me and dad were in-charge of the words, itinerary and overall filling in of the engagement form.
During the ceremony, WC and I as usual were in charge of photo & videotaking. But I actually also had another task that day: reading the first Bible reading to everyone.
It was a super nervous moment, okay! I had to speak in Malay, and to tell you the truth, I couldn’t even figure out what the reading meant! I’m that good in BM. Haha.
Moving on..
After the ceremony, there was the usual makan. Nasi beras bungkus daun was being offered, and it was simply steamed to perfection! It was almost porridge textured! Hats off to whoever was in charge of that dish!
No picture of the food though. Sorry, it was held outdoors, and the weather was scorching hot. We were drenched in sweat and didn’t really feel like moving so much.
But while waiting for the parents to finish their talking, future SIL brought us kids around the house compound, where they had a pond (with a small boat inside!)..
And a quite big fruit farm (where last year they gave us SO much Durian and Rambutan, it’s not even funny!). The photo above is just a tiny part of it!
They if you walk further down (though not too far from the house actually) you will see this beautiful view of the Sipitang river!
It was so beautiful and breathtaking (and the water looked so good to bathe in under the scorching weather!) that we just had to take a photo with us in it! Hehe! Memories mah! ;)
This trip to Sipitang towards the Long Pasia route) was a first for me and WC, so we definitely loved the adventure. If only we were wearing more comfortable clothing (like shorts and spaghetti straps or something!) we would’ve enjoyed the trip more.
But oh well. The main reason we went there was for the engagement ceremony, and it was a success. Loved future SIL’s family members too; they’re all so warm, friendly and just welcomed us with open arms!
Congrats to my lil’ bro, who’s not so lil’ anymore! Big boy now! Engaged summore! @_@
