My 2009 Raya

21 Sep

Just a short recap of what happened last night on our first day of Raya.. and no, we didn’t go to any open houses, but..

dinner outing

WC and I met my new friend from Japan last night and we brought her out to dinner! She even gave us some souvenirs from Japan! Wheee!

dinner outing: food

We actually brought her to Luyang Restaurant at first, but it was fully booked as usual, so we went to Diamond Restaurant in Bornion instead! Luckily it only started to rain cats and dogs as soon as we sat down, inside the restaurant itself! Phew!

We didn’t get to bring her to other places, as it was still raining and we didn’t want her to get sick. So we ended up just sending her back to the hotel after that. We’ll be seeing her again sometime this week to bring her around KK to let her try more food! Yes, it’s all about food and more food when you’re out with me! (So next time, I want the kitchen in my future house to be complete with not only varieties of ingredients to cook, but also with a nice decor, like some stainless steel backsplash on the kitchen walls, huh?)

Anyway, how are all y’all’s Raya so far? Having fun with all those food? ;)

2009 MV Doulos Trip and Dino’s Birthday Party

19 Sep

I’ve been so busy lately, especially on Thursday this week, where I brought sis Jewelle and nieces to check out the MV Doulos which is currently here in KK.

MV-Doulos

I also took a pic of this MV Doulos at night, which I posted sometime back, remember?

Anyways..

It was quite a long walk for these 2 nieces of mine from the parking lot all the way to the ship, and there isn’t any place to sit when we reached the ship. Poor them.. luckily the books on the ship distracted their tiredness for a little while.. until we had to walk back to the car, that is!

I then drove them to Warisan Square for lunch, and after sending them back home, sis and I went to the salon after that to get ourselves a new haircut at Karamunsing! That took much longer than I expected; reached home just in time to get ready for Dino’s birthday bbq party that night!

The yummy Chocolate Cheesecake that we got for the birthday boy..

WC helping out with grilling

Since WC had some experience in grilling in that exact grill plate (it’s the same as ours! he said) he offered to grill first half of the food.

Oh and I unveiled my new short hairdo that same night!

during the party

If you’re wondering why is this a big deal, I’ve had long hair most of my life, and this is only the second time that I’ve gone super short (shoulder length is still short okay!)

I think it’s alright, my head much lighter now haha.. What do you guys think? ;)

Anyhoo.. back to the birthday boy story..

presenting the bday cake

The party was a success; great turnout of food, drinks and people!

Happy Birthday again to the birthday boy, Dino! :)

Oh and Avril, I LOVED your chicken curry! The spiciness very kick lah! ;)

Daisy Getting To Know The Family; Bigger Cage

16 Sep

The nieces are back in KK for the school holidays!

Daisy with 'cousin'

Here’s the youngest, De, familiarizing herself with Daisy..

And yes, that’s Daisy in a much bigger cage; it’s like 3 times bigger than her old cage; which we still use for her bedtime, btw. The cage above is a very old cage, and it doesn’t have a cover to it, but my mom fixed it up a bit so Daisy can use it.

At least Daisy can do her binky in the cage itself and run her usual marathon inside, too! :)

Mommy is slowly introducing me to carrots nowadays. She doesn’t give me a lot though; only half a carrot about once a week!

I want more! It’s very yummy! I can finish it in just 1/2 hour! Yum yum yum!
