Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)
So last week was the talk on Vote for Sipadan, held especially for us bloggers. I myself unfortunately couldn’t go to this event, but I was told that in the beginning, the numbers of those who planned on attending were promising, but alas, most of them didn’t bother to show up at all on the day itself.
Question: why bother on RSVP’ing if you’re not going at all? Even to the extent of messaging and calling the people in charge of this talk beforehand? And when they called you on the day itself asking why you’re still not there, you gave them lame excuses instead? WTF.
Don’t you know that you’re not only giving a bad name to yourself, but also to Sabahan Bloggers in general? You probably never thought of that before, huh? This is an event by Sabah Tourism, and yet this is how you guys show your support? By simply saying that you’ll be going and then not showing up at all? Unbelievable!
Next time, please lah.. think twice about RSVP’ing to events, whether via Facebook or in person, phone. etc! And yes, I’M ALSO TALKING ABOUT THIS YEAR’S SABAHAN BLOGGERS GATHERING (SBG) TOO! We also experienced that at last year’s SBG (you people in FB should know who you are, shame on you!), though luckily quite a lot turned up as well, so we were very thankful for those who DID RSVP and DID actually turned up!
So everyone, please take note and don’t let it happen again!

That’s why one cannot rely on Facebook, because it’s just click to show face and then hope that the rest go. It’s pathetic to use it. I remember using FB for my 30th, 2 confirmed, but more than 20 showed up.
I think it all boils down to calling them ONE by ONE – unfortunately. People still like to be ampu’d. That’s the way of the world.
I wish I could be there for this year’s gathering, but I have 3 flying holidays planned that if I use more leave, I would be short for X’mas. I’m sure it’ll be a blast!

Ya lah Jacq. It’s like almost a trend with FB to just confirm their attendance. But to do it over the phone and sampai call the organizers and all that and in the end not showing up is just really lame lah as you said.

No harm in RSVP-ing.
But if you RSVP that you’re coming and then you DONT, thats where the problem arises.
