Help Save Stray Dogs From Pulau Ketam

11 May

Public Awareness

We all know about this news about the poor stray dogs from Pulau Ketam being shipped and dumped cruelly to a deserted island. (if you don’t know know about this, where have you been??)

Anyway, I didn’t know how bad the environment of the island was until Edrie posted a link via Twitter, which I then checked out, and OMG! the island is surrounded by thick mangrove trees! How to survive like that?? For a human, let alone a dog??

poor dogs in hell island!

If you haven’t seen the pics, then I suggest you start HERE, then see the photos one by one carefully. I actually cried when looking at them! Those people there who deported these poor dogs to that hell island, the surrounding people at Pulau Ketam not bothering to help or even do anything, you guys will all be hit with karma sooner or later for what you did, and also for not doing anything! Don’t you people have hearts at all?? How would you like it if you were the one being sent there to rot and die a slow and painful death??

Here’s Grace (one of the stray dogs) being rescued. Look at how much water she drank! Imagine the other dogs currently on the island, they can only drink sea water, and not proper water! And had to eat the carcass of their other fellow dead dogs to survive!

And the recent update about Grace was just too heartbreaking to watch. Grace had a lot of flesh eating maggots in her skin! And luckily, they were all taken out (hopefully)! You people who did this to her are so cruel! I just cannot say that enough!!

Immediately after reading all these news, I quickly donated to them via Paypal, and I plead that you all do the same, whether through Paypal, or to their CIMB account (more info HERE). I vow to continually donate until those poor dogs are all rescued and treated and are well, and you should too! The rescue team need all the help they can get, monetary-wise or others!

** If you have finish reading this, and still not bother to do anything, I hope karma bites you in the butt too! The sooner the better! So please help and save these dogs!

Thanks for posting Jacq. I’m still in shock..gah. The latest update of 8 saved canines so far brings hope. But the thought of the worst had to happen before people take heart is stupid.

Edrie, no problem.. and typical lah, wait for other people to make the first move first, and once when it’s a national news, then only people start to help left and right.. pffffrrrt!

    Jefferi, ya.. sigh..

Emelda, tq gurl for donating. Sigh.. I’ve donated too, but feel like not enough ni.. feel like donating all my $ but nanti me pula yg kebuluran.. haha.. more dogs have been saved. Hopefully they’ll catch more, imagine those dogs sleeping in the dark in middle of the mangrove island.. with biawak and snakes and flesh eating maggots to avoid.. and itu belum lagi mention about high tide! sigh.. so kesian..

Amy C, kena deport kan by the people there, and kena approved lagitu in the beginning. wtf man.. so tulah.. so kesian kan? sigh..

besides donating cash, you guys can choose to buy dog food or can food for them dog (just in case some of you might question the management if the money really is being used to help those stray dogs)… anyone of you can contact PAWS, SPCA and some other individual charity worker… I’ve just fetched about 15 packets of 20kg dog food together with my few friends to PAWS
