SBG 2008 OCDN Newspaper Article & Update

30 Apr

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

at-hotel-room

Hey everybody! I’m now blogging from my hotel room! I’m on a mini vacation! Wheeeeee!

But there’s no need to ask where I am; still in KK city itself. Haha..

I’m finally using my free 1-night stay hotel voucher that I won from the CUBE Photo Contest, and after listening to the radio this morning, what do you know, tomorrow will be a public holiday (Labour Day), so WC doesn’t have to wake up early to go to work! We can wake up late tomorrow! Woohoo!

~~~~~~
To those of you who read the Overseas Chinese Daily News (OCDN) yesterday, did you notice the 1-WHOLE-PAGE of the Sabahan Bloggers Gathering (SBG) ’08 coverage??
Sabah Bloggers Gathering 2008
Not only 1 whole page, but in colour, too!
I didn’t know about it, until WC’s friend called him up telling him about it, and he told the rest of the SBG committees about it as well! (Anyone of you can read Chinese?? Can translate it for us??)
I blogged about the committees being interviewed last year (you can read about it HERE), so when we heard about it finally coming out on paper, we were like, huh? It only came out now?? Not knowing it will be a whole page! But now, after seeing it, we are happy that it came out around this time, because it’s a good reminder for the rest of you bloggers to join this year’s SBG! ;) But we’ll talk more about that later on! So stay tuned for that on our blogs soon!
Kudos to the OCDN reporter, who did an awesome writeup about the SBG ’08! (but oops, you spelt WC’s name wrong, and also our MAIN sponsor, Nuffnang (not Nuffnaung hehe), but it’s okay, we forgive you! :)
with one of the Owners cum Chef at the Raja Wang Cafe
The KK Food Reviews crew were at another dinner food review last night at Raja Wang Cafe in Donggongon, so you’ll see the review soon on the food blog!
Tonight we will be at another restaurant, but this time for the upcoming Bandwidth‘s APPETiTe Section!
Which restaurant and what dish will it be? You’ll just have to wait for the next issue of Bandwidth to come out! ;)
~~~~~~

Will not be going to this year’s Sabah Fest, first, because the quota for photographers have already filled, and second, this Saturday will be my late grandma’s 100 days prayer at my parents’ house. Over 200 people will be coming, OMG.. I just don’t know how they all will fit into the house! Eeeeek!

Planning On Going Dot Com?

29 Apr

A few of my friends have asked about the how-tos on going dot com, like how much does it cost, where is the hosting server from, which is the best one, etc.

Well, you know what I would usually answer them? I would tell them to check out some web hosting sites online and tell them to do their homework, and the easiest place to check out and compare about web hosting sites is none other than a site called Web Hosting Choice, a free research guide to help users choose the right web host for their personal or business website. There you can view their Top 10 Web Hosting Sites list done by comparison from things such as price, score, setup price, whether domain is included or not, disk space amount, data transfer amount, any money back option, and their review about each web host.

I suggest to those of you who are also looking for which web hosts to go for (either a small site or for a large e-commerce website) then go and check out this site and read their comparison and reviews as it is very useful. The site is updated from time to time as well, so you are well updated on web hosts out there.

Spike’s Daily Jog

28 Apr

Not long after my dog Bruno passed away, it was obvious that my other dog Spike immediately felt the sudden pang of loneliness.. no more of playing with each other, sleeping near each other, fighting for food, Bruno biting Spike’s ear.. practically whatever Spike used to do, he would always check with Bruno first. Now? Nothing.

So me being me, I of course feel sorry for Spike, and vowed to make him less lonely. So I’d promise myself that I’d bring Spike for his mini walk around the neighbourhood every evening, just so that he will have something to do, instead of just moping around the house. (It’s also an excuse for me to have a break from being at my computer since morning actually hehe!)

Run Spike, Run!

Here’s Spike jogging around yesterday.. he was sure in a jolly mood. And something interesting happened: I let him be close to one particular neighbour’s dog who was outside at the time, and surprisingly, they didn’t get into a fight! Phew! They got along quite well! So glad! I wouldn’t know what to do when dogs get into a fight, seriously!

I just hate all the other neighbours dogs barking at us all the time though.. Spike hates it too; he’d bark and growl at them too!

Spike & Me

Here’s Spike and I after our walk yesterday.. used my cameraphone to capture these, thus, the bad quality. He sure knows how to look at the camera, huh!… well, except for the second photo; he was actually looking at the camera at first, then he suddenly looked away when a bird passed by!

Sigh.. how I love recording memories like this!

~~~~~~
If you have a pet as well, why don’t you record memories like these with them? You’ll appreciate it in the future, trust me.
Good Quality Family Time
27 Apr
DSCN1863
Half eaten food haha..
Remember me winning the CUBE Photo Contest? (If you don’t, then click HERE), well, one of the prizes was a RM100 voucher to dine at CUBE, so I brought the family to dine with WC and I there last night.
We ordered 5 dishes, all the signature dishes (eh wait.. minus the pork belly) and oh boy, were they all scrumptious! Yummylicious, I tell you! And luckily, dad is pleased too, and he said that it’s one of the best restaurants he’s ever tried in a long time! Awww.. glad you liked it Daddy! :)
Group pic of the family
This was one good quality family time. Wish sis & family and younger bro would’ve joined us too!
** We only had to pay for the bottle of wine, so it was like dining for free last night! Woohoo! **
