Trying To Save

19 Mar

I admit, with the recession looming, I am sure most of you are spending as little as possible (right??). Well, it’s like that for me anyways.

These days I just try to avoid going to the mall unless necessary, and I mostly only look at Sale items if I do end up inside the stores.

Believe me, it’s very hard to leave the stores empty-handed, when so many of the things are practically calling out to you and begging you to buy them! But nope.. only sale items for me these days..

I hope. LOL!

I’m Joining CUBE’s Photo Contest

19 Mar

cube-photo-contestI can finally say that I’ll be joining CUBE’s Photo Contest tonight! Yeay!

I really thought I wouldn’t be able to join due to work and stuff. But luckily I managed to switch my schedule around a bit, and I’ve just submitted my entry form 30 minutes before the deadline just now! Phew!

What is this Photo Contest all about?

“Come and shoot 7 of CUBE’s signature dishes and wine (WITH MODELS) and submit your photos to stand a chance to win RM500 worth of prizes!

The winning photo will also be displayed in the CUBE photo gallery, Breeze magazine and Silverhand (http://www.silverhand.com.my).”

I know that shooting food is not an easy thing to do, because you have to find the right angle, have good lighting, and we must do it as quick as possible, before the food melts. It can be stressful taking food photos sometimes! What more in a competition! Eeeek!

So to those of you who have submitted your entry as well, see y’all tonight!

Samsu Chicken, My Fav

18 Mar

Yellow Wine Chicken

I haven’t eaten Samsu Chicken (or Drunken Chicken, or Ayam Lihing.. whatever you call it) in quite a while now, and so when I saw it on the menu at Hawaii Cafe in Centrepoint recently, I just had to order it!

And was I glad that I did, because it was SO sedap! I was actually drooling with the aroma filling up the cafe. I think I’m gonna have it again soon! ;)

Making Things Happen With The Midas Touch

16 Mar

** Continuation from HERE **

So I mentioned on Saturday morning that I’ll be attending the workshop at CUBE called Making Things Happen With The Midas Touch, and boy, was I glad that I went!

Some pics first..

Soon Loo telling us his stories.. one amazing guy that is! His professional portfolio is surely an envy to most of us!

Whenever  go to workshops, I love sitting right in front to better listen to the speaker! Here we are doing some writing activities.

We had to figure out what’s been holding us down, and what are the thoughts that keeps us going. We also had to go around and write what is that person’s first impression to us! Fun stuff! WC’s impression was very funny; one of 2 of the people there wrote down “Bald & Beautiful”! LOL!

And after a lot of ‘em went back, some of us stayed until late, and the best part of being at CUBE (apart from my fav. Steamed Chicken called the Unforgettable Taste.. yum yum!) is their wine! ;)

And I’ve forgotten to take pics of their food (okay maybe I didn’t forget, but I was too hungry to take pics!) but I have to mention here that OMG their buffet is EXCELLENT! Super delicious! And trust me, I wasn’t the only one who thought of this; the others said the same thing! I’m impressed! So I say, more workshops in the future with that kind of food, and you’ll definitely see me there! ;)
