Part II of Kota Kinabalu Sony Alpha Workshop

27 Feb

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

** Continuation from Part I of Sony Alpha Workshop **

Okay more on the Sony Alpha workshop, this time with my photos:

(alamak blurrrr pic!)

Everybody had to use the same settings and shoot at the crowd.. There were so many unknown faces, which ranged from young to old! It’s great to see many new faces, but if only there were some sort of intro session of each person beforehand.. oh well.

While everybody was taking pictures endlessly of their own finger (to show the DOF), I shot the glasses instead! ;) John (the speaker) DID say that we could take any subject! Teehee!

A random shot at Tanjung Aru First Beach. Yup, we all boarded a bus and went for our practical at Tg. Aru! It’s too bad I didn’t bring my filters; the weather was so freaking hot (and the glare from the ocean, OMG! Sakit mata!) But about 1/2 hour later, it started to rain! Cats & dogs! Luckily my friends and I were at the First Beach building, so we managed to get shelter and wait for the bus there; the others weren’t so lucky, especially those who were at the playground! Their poor cameras!

We’re supposed to submit a photo to Sony M’sia last week, but I totally forgot! But then again, I didn’t have time to go back to Tg. Aru and re-shoot. So I guess I missed my shot. Oh well..

Next workshop I wanna attend: The Sony Flash Workshop! I wanna learn all the wireless flash techniques! It’d be so cool! (and no I’m not promoting any promotional product la, hehe!)

Sony Alpha Workshop In Kota Kinabalu

25 Feb

Attended the free Sony Alpha Workshop recently. It was very good for beginners, and not to brag, but I already knew most of the things mentioned during the workshop. But it was certainly a good refresher course for me! Wish WC could’ve been there though, so he’d know more on how to use my camera, too! Oh well..

Some of them recognised me (“you’re the one with all those delicious food photos on your Flickr!”) and asked whether I work professionally as a food photographer. Gosh, how flattering! Teehee! But I just told them, not yet, soon! ;)

They also asked me what gears I use, and what mode/setting I use on my camera. When I told them I always use the Manual mode, they were like, wow!! It then made me wonder, is it so difficult to use manul mode meh? *scratches head*

Anyway, pics! *they’re not owned by me; it belongs to John of Sony Malaysia, but I’m in it, so I wanna borrow it and put it here on my blog! Hope that’s okay Sony Malaysia!*

I look like a schoolgirl here lol!

I sat on the front row, to the far end of the room, so I didn’t get to take much photos during the workshop. I’ve also yet to edit my photos that I DID take during the workshop, especially during the practical! I’ll post them up soon, ya! :)

Part II is now up! Read it here: Part II of Kota Kinabalu Sony Alpha Workshop!

These Days, It’s All About The Roof!

21 Feb

The Roof Restaurant

That’s the name of the restaurant at Imperial International Hotel actually, in case y’all are wondering. Took the above photo at a food photoshoot recently. I just love the view from up there, BTW!

Anyways, if you have read my previous post, then you’d know that I was recently at a food photoshoot, and it was actually here at this restaurant; helping them take some food shots and to promote The Roof Restaurant menu!

You can read more about this at The Roof’s own blog HERE.

Go and read it! I’m mentioned in there as well! ;)
