Halloween 2008

01 Nov

How was everyone’s Halloween night?? Did you guys go trick-or-treating, or partied in clubs?

As for me, I of course attended Jade’s Halloween Costume Party!

And my costume, you ask?

Well, I went as:

I was a French Maid for Halloween '08!

A French Maid!! (and so was the gal behind me.. but she was more to the real Halloween-ish maid I think or whatever you call it)

My costume was something I put together with at the last minute.. just a day before actually! (at a boutique at Warisan Sq. where they need to do some lighting fixtures in the dressing room; it’s so dark!) And I just had to buy the apron, the garter & pantyhose, and some laces to sew on my top! Oh and I did my hat just a few hours before the event started too!

All that was missing was a mini feather duster, but I hadn’t enough time to go shopping for anything anymore, so I just decided to forgo the duster!

Okay, some pics! (all pics courtesy of WC, who was my photog for the night!)

I love the knife headband thingy! So cool!

A witch who was trying to put me under a spell?

Of course there were lotsa “Lemme see the pic!” after it was taken.. chimping to the max man! LOL!

In between my angel and my devil!

JerryInc was there with too! Dude, you should’ve worn your false teeth the whole night cuz it looked so darn funny lah!

And finally..

Group photo of those who dressed up!

There are more pics, but I’ll upload the rest in Facebook soon!

Update: I was SO pissed off at the dude who finish our Vodka bottle! I mean.. who fills up their glass with vodka halfway, and keep on doing so every 5 minutes?? And did you ask for permission to drink from our bottle?? We don’t even know you!! The drinks WC bought were for our FRIENDS!! If you had bothered to intro yourself, we’d probably say okay sure, but you’re not even our friend! And I watched you all night; you were all putting your head on the table and complaining about being drunk, and yet when our bottle finished, you kept on getting drinks from other table and drinking even more! I mean.. WTF!!

You’re so lucky WC kept his cool there and didn’t want to create any scene. But just you wait! You’re SO gonna get tagged in FB that you’ll be FAMOUS! Hmph!!

If you realise, halloween is no longer scary clothes or costume… any costume will just do… hahahah…

You dont necessarily have to wear “scary” outfits for Halloween – it’s all about dressing up and costumes, no? I celebrated 4 years of Halloween in the US, and most people came in different types of costumes – as politicians, animals, famous mascots, etcetc. In Malaysia I notice everyone seems to think a Halloween party means wearing something scary!

I would have come as Tinkerbell I think. Hehehe.

But looks like everyone had fun! Nice!

    Yep, I agree with Charlenediane.

Wow Jacq, a stranger helping himself with y’all’s Vodka… that’s so rude. I would have told him off. I hope you took pictures of him in action, did you? I’d like to see how this rude dude looks like … hehe. Beautiful pictures there Jacq, thanks for sharing :)

chegu carol, aww tq! and yes, next year u and alvin must join!

Jewelle, scary costume is SO yesterday. Even in the States pun I dressed up as a bunny.. imagine how long ago was THAT! Not necessarily bah.

Daniel, haha.. somehow I knew you’d say that!

Gallivanter, in other bars/clubs/pubs, I’m sure ada tu. But here more to modern costume.. no more ‘Night of Mayhem’ haha.. we got no complaints from the bar owner, so it was all good!

JerryInc, have u seen ur pic with Josie in FB yet?? Hilarious! I can just imagine her laughing underneath that mask!

    Julian, yup. Exactamento!

Olie, you came late sikit kan? A lot left early ni.. guess went to other places lah tu..

charlenediane, yes exactly! I got my own experience there too, and it was just like yours. And yea, wish you were there that night!

Dora, I know right? I really wanted to, but WC said, no need.. cuz we thought he was in our circle as well. But still benci lah.. And you’re welcome :)

Oh well, I suppose it’s more commercial these days, as the younger generation steers Halloween to a costume celebration level, ignorant to its history. :-)

FYI, Charlene & Dora, Halloween denotes the day before All Saint’s Day, where all forms of evil come out to play. That is what Halloween is. You don’t see Santa wearing a diving suit during X’mas do you? :-P

    Denise, ooh TQ! Who’s Jim?

Gallivanter, I understand what you’re trying to say, it totally beats the point of Halloween huh.. but it’s been like this since in the 90s even in outside country. And I guess what you said is true: it’s been commercialised.

emelda, I know gurl! Syok juga bah ber-dress up ni tau.. nvm. When you come here next year, you main dress up juga lah ah hehe..

JerryInc, yea I did thought about that lol..

alus, lupa sudah apa dia punya real name.

Xander, ‘tuba’ si Cassie? LOL! Yea you should know.. didn’t he sat at your table on a few occasions?
