The Great American Seafood Cook Off

I am quite late to be talking about this topic only now, but hey, it is better late than never, as they say, right?

Anyways, I was talking about the cook off over at www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com. And anyone can vote for their favorite recipe there. The five finalists were from Colorado, Maryland, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana.

My choice would definitely be the Mississippi Redfish Courtboullion with Seafood Dirty Rice, simply because the menu totally rocks! You can’t see what ingredients are being used in the dish, but once you read the recipe, OMG, I can already imagine how it tastes like! And you know how some people likes to change some of the recipe here and there? Well, I am not one to do so; I think the recipe is just fine as how it is!

And what do you know, this is the exact recipe that won the 2008 Great American Seafood Cook-Off Winning Recipe! Good for Chef John Currence of Mississippi! He definitely deserves it!

You guys should visit the website if you want to see the other mouthwatering recipes from the other finalists! You can also cast your votes still (I think) for a chance to win a trip to New Orleans prize package! (not sure whether they still have it or not, though..)

And speaking about seafood, don’t you guys just love using domestic seafood? And us here in Sabah is definitely very lucky that we can have seafood from just about any supermarket, and yet the seafood are still fresh, local, and still tastes delicious!
