Photo(s) of The Moment: 1Borneo On A Cloudy Day

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

1Borneo

Update:

As eshark have mentioned in the comment, it WOULD look nice if turned into an HDR image. And the weird thing was that he commented that while I WAS playing around with the HDR program for this image, and the result:

1Borneo HDR

I only tweaked a bit of the HDR settings. I still wanted this pic to look real.

Have a good Monday everyone! :)

Hmm.. nice kalau kasi HDR this shot. Aik! they paint the two building into blue color ka already..

massy, well, not sure in KK, but it didn’t rain at all at Salut! (that was where we headed). Also, 1/2 after that, terus sunny lagi balik ni.. weird..

eshark,haha.. as you commented this, I WAS tweaking around with the HDR program la on this pic. Ya macam the blue color ndak brapa ngam pula kan?.. Just IMO lah..

  4. eshark Says:

Oh! That’s good.. kalau kasi treatment cikit lagi that cloud tambah lighting coming out from the cloud going down as a background.. nahh!! barula superb!

i don’t think the photo was HDR. it is a HDR effect photo. some people might easily mistaken HDR with some photoshop effect and shadow and highlight filters.

you need at least 2 photos with different exposure to create HDR or take the photo with RAW. the purpose of HDR is to be able to neutralize the highlight and shadow of the photo that mostly look surreal.

eshark, bah nanti klu ada time u guys teach me lah. Cuz everytime I changed the light setting, the rest always turned out dark ni. Fail! LOL..

jefferi, yes I know. But I was taught a neat trick whereby you save 3 of the same photo but change the exposures. And I used Dynamic Photo HDR program for the above. You can’t use that program with only 1 photo. And like I said, I only tweaked very little, meaning I still wanted it to look real. If I made it look ‘unreal’, people will comment that the HDR photo not real, so now I made it ‘more real’, people say it’s not HDR. Ok fine. Whatever. Happy Monday to you.

Jefferi : At first glimpse the photo that Jacq took looks ordinary, but if you see it carefully it has a little bit some kinda hdr effect. To me any photo that has done tone mapping in any HDR software such as Photomatix, Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.. is indeed an HDR image, the different is wheter you can make a good HDR effect or not and that’s differ you are beginner or pro.

In jacq’s case here, not bad for a beginner like her to come out like this image. well..that’s what I think la. ;)

i guess you need to know that you do photography for yourself and not for other people. HDR already basically look ‘unreal’ same as other kind of photography technique such as night and long exposure photography. the main thing is to be able to create a result that creative and different than usual no matter what you shot and technique you use in post processing no matter it look real or not real.

  9. jefferi Says:

eshark: true, it has HDR effect. beginner or advance is not an issue here. i just refer to process of HDR to define a HDR photo as i paste the link of some good reading. If you say it was a HDR, it is HDR then.
