Tambunan Delicacy: Exotic Snacks By The Road
Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)
** Continuation from Jungle Girl **
But this wasn’t in KK, though. This was in Tambunan!
(This is a non-halal post, so click on the read more to see more pics to read more about this post!)
So after I’ve became Jungle Girl for a while there, we did stop by at Keningau for tea time and also to check out our houses there. The rain poured like cats and dogs while we were eating, so I told Dad, “Damn, we gotta use the Tambunan road to go back tonight! No!” Parents and WC just laughed, because they know about my motion sickness problem and how much I hate the KK-Tambunan road!
But anyway, on our way back, we passed this ‘Babi Hutan (or wild boar)’ stalls where my parents always buys the meat on the way back. Since I was already dizzy from the ride, I just stayed in the car waiting for them to finish buying so we can get on back to our way to KK.
But noooooo… dad, whose always been an adventurous person, told WC to drag me out of the car because they wanted to have some of these meat as snacks right then and there!

There are more stalls than shown on this pic, but it was too dark to see the rest
While waiting, Dad bought beer for everyone (well, except for mom since she doesn’t drink) to drink with the “snacks”. And parents got to talking in Dusun with the people there. And we found out that it was here that “The Incident” happened.. you know, where they found the kidnappers. Am so glad those mother-effers got caught. They should rot in jail!
But anyway..
After our Babi Hutan were done being BBQ’d, they then served cut it up and served it with some soy sauce..

OMG! They.Are.So.Sedap!! It cured me from my motion sickness that night! LOL!
But I didn’t ask how much it cost though.. I’ll ask later parents when they come back from outstation about it and get back to y’all, aight?
Oh, if you don’t know, please don’t go and buy these raw meat and bring them back on your ride back to KK, ESPECIALLY at night! You don’t want ‘extra passengers’ on your car now, do you??
~~~~~~
Small talk: I’ll be busy the next few days ‘cleaning’ my notebook. It’s gotten slower and slower, and I’m not helping by just storing all the pics that I’ve taken. WC said I should just upgrade my ram. But I’m so lazy to look around. Duh..
Oh ya, I can definitely vouch for that no-raw-meat on a night drive.
We got “tagged” along that stretch of road near the Rafflesia Centre after Tambunan (on the way to KK).
I every week limpas that stalls…never bothered to stop by cos wild boar aka bakas meat can also be found selling at Keningau wet market every Mondays. I love hinugu bakas but a no-no if it’s cook in soup. The smell of the meat is too strong for me if it is not BBQ’d.
i also heard that such meat can attract someone else into our car.. creepy…
hopefully the 20 years of jail and 20+ rotan penalty have sent a very clear message to other potential troublemakers. they will pay a very very high price for being naughty..
