Before this, usually when I take night pics, the lights in the pics would usually end up with just a round, blob looking thingy.
But my bro in-law, who’s more experienced in photography, taught me how to get those star effects on my lights during our recent family holiday. So manual settings on camera: check! Tripod: also check!
Then we all headed outside the lodge for my practical:

This is with the help of my intructor hehe..

And this is my own attempt. So yeay! I finally did it!
Such a noob kan me.. just found out about this lol..

Looks pretty good, pictures turned out nice.
If it was me and seeing as how I’m soooo lazy, I would have used a starburst filter or something. LOL! But your bro-in-laws idea is a cool one too …
Happy New Year to you and your family …

clement, it’s called a tripod actually, not a stand. And yes, because with my shaky hands, it would’ve been impossible to take this pic with just my hands holding the camera steady lol..
Nick Phillips, yea that’s another alternative I guess right? :)
jefferi, interesting to know. Thanks for informing! :) And Happy New Year to you too! :)
papajoneh, Happy New Year PapaJ! :)
