Japanese Lunch With Friends
Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)
At around 12pm, Dino asked WeiChuen and I to join them for lunch today at Warisan Square. So I quickly called up WeiChuen and agreed to meet them there at 1pm.
Our venue for lunch: Yoshimi Japanese Restaurant. This is WeiChuen and my first time on eating there..

Julian Sabah, Radzie, Kim, and YeeSan were also there with us

The place is not bad, and turned out that WeiChuen knew the owner as well. While the decor and food is good, the arrival time for the food took too long. Took them 1/2 hour for the salmon sushi to arrive, at least 45 minutes for the bentos to arrive. Mine was last, more than an hour later. Sheesh..
And I noticed that Warisan Square have already got their Christmas mood on! Nice!

The front of Warisan Square also has a nice Christmas decor being displayed (reminds me of the decors in Bandar), but it’s not that nice in the daytime, I think I’ll drop by nighttime one of these days to take a pic of it. Night time should be nicer, right?
To those of you working at Warisan Square, lucky you!

waa.. warisan square decorated already.. yes! its time to take out the camera and snap some good photo. ^_^
JACQ: yes so soon huh? Too bad we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, otherwise the place would be decorated with all those turkeys now! Oh well, time to whip out your cameras and head on to Warisan! Will be waiting to see some pics of Warisan on your blog!
Warisan Square’s decorations looks nice…but the ones in front although its nice but it also looks kind of messy? While the rest of the place looks real pretty. =)
Yes Jeff, bring your camera. I wanted to take some photos but the workers were still fixing up the decos so I didn’t. Next trip maybe.
JACQ: yes, all bloggers should take note of the decorations outside and try to take pics of the place! Instant boost to Warisan! Hehe..
I was a little disappointed with my experience in the restaurant: the service was very slow. We were seated in the VIP room so weren’t we supposed to get VIP treatments? We ended up neglected most of the time instead. Important rule of VIP rooms, make every guest feel like one.
I ordered Tempura Udon but again I was disappointed as the soup was already cold upon arrival. The original Udon soup taste was lost under the strong soy sauce taste & seaweed. No doubt that seaweed does make a good ingredient for soup but due to the thick & slippery texture of the Udon, a strong and concentrated soup base is needed as well to blend well with the Udon.
They also put some “Taugeh” into the soup but I think that’s the reason why my soup got cold faster. Udon soup normally less oily so heat escape faster & plus the “Taugeh” was a big mistake.
But overall, being a new restaurant in Warisan, they did make a good effort. Although they only offer basic Japanese menu, the pricing is definitely a bargain. I can see the passion in the owner’s eyes in serving the customer and for me, that is good enough potential for a restaurant to be successful. In time, we’ll definitely be there again for our 2nd review. Verdict: Worth to try.
JACQ: interesting view. We were also seated in the VIP area this afternoon, and yes, maybe due to the many customers, we were being slightly neglected as well. But I guess it was no biggie for me. Thanks for sharing with us your experience.
