29 Oct

Yours truly with Peter Tan and the Mrs, Wuan

WeiChuen & I did make it to the Bloggers Meet here in KK last night (Sunday)! Even though we arrived back in KK at around 6pm, had some quick tea break/early dinner, and went home straight away to get ready for the Meet.

The Meet was held at The Shamrock Irish Bar at Waterfront in KK. We arrived there slightly late, maybe around 8.40pm. Luckily we weren’t the last ones as we’re told that more people were also on the way.

At first, we sat in front of the entrance, but as number of people in our group grew, we had to move to a bigger spot.

The BF ber-posing

WeiChuen and big bro had a couple of games of pool to make them stay awake, especially WC, as he was REALLY tired that night!

DSCN4073.jpg
Some random pic I took, a bit blurrish, but you can see si Julian Sabah was also doing what I was doing lol..

We had a short ice-breaker during the meet, where each of us had to introduce ourselves. I just mentioned my name, and my personal blog (which is this one lah), and the KK Food Reviews blog. Hehe..

After everyone had intro’d themselves, more pic taking time! Yeah!

DSCN4085.jpg
Me and the BF; very tired but tried our best to look perky!

I have no idea why Joy was trying to feed some milk (from a bottle summore!) to Julian Sabah. But it sure looked hilarious!

And finally, our group pic:

Clockwise from left: Wuan, C, NJ, Jollence, Julian Sabah, Jefferi, Edgar, JBL, KinkyJasmine, Rachel, Peter, Dee, me, and WeiChuen. Eh, why was Wuan standing so far away from Peter? Aiyo.. lol..

Had fun meeting new people that night. And I can’t wait for the next bloggers meet (hint hint)! ;)

Trip To Brunei ‘07 – Day 2 (Cont’d)

27 Oct

Continuation of the previous post: Trip To Brunei ’07 – Day 2.

That evening, bro-in-law also brought us to Taman Peranginan Tasik, located in Bandar SB as well. We went here not to jog, but to check out the waterfall somewhere inside the park.

How the park looks like

DSCN3705.jpg
Here’s the waterfall. Beautiful, isn’t it? It’s nice to have a jogging park and a waterfall in the middle of a city. Very rare. Lucky Bruneians.

DSCN3706.jpg
You can sit and relax while enjoying the waterfall and nature sound

DSCN3707.jpg
And it’s also a perfect spot for phototaking. Here’s WeiChuen and I on our Kodak moment.

DSCN3694.jpg
Inside the park, we also tried out the reflexology stones.

DSCN3710.jpg
All the guys were complaining that their feet hurts especially WeiChuen. I guess the heavier you are, the more painful it is, huh..

DSCN3711.jpg
But to me, it was nothing. Walking in high heels for the whole day feels even worse as compared to walking on these stones! And see, sempat lagi I put on a smile for a pose! LOL!

DSCN3709.jpg
And another thing that we noticed at this park: the ants are HUGE!!

Then we left the park, and went to our next location for dinner. And on the way there, passed this beautiful mosque:

DSCN3717.jpg
Pretty huh? Pic taken while the car was still moving lagitu.. Luv this pic.

Can’t believe our mini trip is over, and we’re going back tomorrow! Argh! So fast!!

Trip To Brunei ‘07 – Day 2

27 Oct

On our second day, left the house at 7.30am for breakfast with family..

Quick pose in the car

Our mode of transportation during the time in Brunei

DSCN3634.jpg
And we reached Seria town. Such a peaceful old town. Been like that for 30 (?) years now.

DSCN3638.jpg
And we went for our breakfast.

DSCF7525.jpg
Niece Eu and I did a quick pose again during breakfast hehe..

DSCN3644.jpg
Then went over to some shops cuz sis Jewelle had to buy some things, and the kids had a great time playing with WeiChuen!

DSCN3686.jpg
Hehe.. another quick pose, WeiChuen and I in the car on the way to Bandar, sans sis and her kids.

DSCN3665.jpg
While all the guys were looking at some accessories in the car accessories shops, look what I found: crystals to put on my phone! LOL! But not cheap oh, B$12.50 per packet. Real Swarovski meh? I don’t think so lah..

DSCN3659.jpg
Then we went to a car tuning workshop, and we felt like being in a Fast & Furious movie set, with all the nice cars being modified in there! Big bro was in car heaven!

DSCN3666.jpg
Then we stopped by at CoffeeZone for some tidbits..

DSCN3669.jpg
This is what BF had: Chocolate Mud Cake and a Milkshake for B$6.50. The mud cake was delicious!

DSCN3677.jpg
And mine: fries and fried chicken, with mango iced tea for also B$6.50. Bargain man (in their money lah hehe..)

DSCN3678.jpg
We also stopped by at The Mall in Gadong to further add up to our DVD and VCD collections.

DSCN3866.jpg
For BF, it’s all about anime! And for me, it’s a Taiwanese boxed set (much cheaper than in KK lah! Ori summore!), and my Tagalog drama hehe.. Collection mah!

Will continue later. Am so tired, I’m practically asleep while typing out this post!

Trip To Brunei ’07 – Day 1

26 Oct

I finally got around to editing the pics I took for our Brunei trip. So first up, our way there!

I will do a proper post on the way to go there (using pictures and maps) soon, but in the meantime, here’s our adventure there.

Driver: WeiChuen.

Passengers: Moi and big bro.

DSCN34521.jpg
Group pic before the trip!

DSCN3463.jpg
Hafta get an energy drink ready, especially if you plan on leaving early in the morning! Make sure you have your passports and map ready as well. And since BF doesn’t know the way to Brunei at all (despite driven there before), I, as co-pilot, can’t fall asleep and hafta be alert at all times as well.

DSCN34831.jpg
Stopped by several towns along the way to Sarawak, but the most memorable one was when we were in Mesapol town. I remembered on our first family trip to Lawas many donkey years ago, and my dad brought us to this restaurant to eat the very fresh mee soup. And this time around, we managed to take a pic of the guy who makes the mee in a traditional (?) way. Quite interesting oh..

DSCN353911.jpg
But we were most dissatisfied with the road starting from Lawas up until the Trusan Immigration stamp office, where the road were all gravelled! It was pure torture! And look how slow BF went: 10km/hour only! Took us forever to get to the next stamping place! Arrgh!

DSCN35551.jpg
But we liked going into the ferry, even if it was just a few seconds lol..

DSCN360811.jpg
But by late afternoon, we finally reached this place: the last stamping place at Kuala Lurah in Brunei. Yeay!

DSCN3628.jpg
I actually forgot to tell BF to turn right into Jalan Jerudong, and we just went straight ahead, which the area became more and more unfamiliar to me. So I told BF to turn back and look for Jalan Jerudong, despite him saying that we haven’t passed it yet. And I was right. We did passed it.

But I wasn’t truly at ease until I saw this signboard along Jalan Jerudong: the junction to Tutong/Jerudong Park! And right after we saw this sign, my job was practically done, and I could finally take a rest and just let BF drive the way to Lumut, which he knows.

And that night, sis and family brought us out for dinner nearby.

Well, that’s our day one!
