Yummy Sparkling Sunday Brunch

30 Sep

Hi guys! If you're new here, you should subscribe to my RSS feed. TQ for visiting! :)

Slept late last night due to working online all night long, and didn’t even realised when BF left to Beaufort for a day trip this morning. And of course, the joy of Sundays, being able to wake up late.

Anyway, at around noon, Avril called me up, asking me to join her for lunch at Five Sails in Magellan. I jumped at the chance as I haven’t had their food in quite a while!

We sat outside as we wanted to enjoy the beautiful view and the outdoor fresh air.

Avril and I, with the wind blowing our hair all over our faces (well, mine anyway LOL..)

Now what I love about the Five Sails buffets on Sundays is their wine! We had a couple of glasses of Red Label, and it was delicious. But because of the drink, by the time we were finished (like 3 hours later LOL), we were slightly tipsy. In the middle of the afternoon! LOL!

But it’s nice to catch up with a childhood friend, a best friend at that. We shared stories, and laughed until we had tears in our eyes at all the silly jokes we made up, because well, you can’t joke around like that with just about anybody! We also haven’t seen each other in quite a while, so that’s why it took us that long that finish our lunch!

* Hope the wine pic above didn’t offend any Muslims reading this blog. I purposely didn’t put any food pics on this post, cuz recently I got emails asking why I still put up pics of food when I know it’s the Ramadhan month.. sheeshh..

Can You Imagine Your Dog Being Old?

28 Sep
DSC02407.jpg

Went over to Sabah Animal Medical Centre in Luyang again yesterday to pick up my dog’s meds for their heartworm prevention thingy. And this time it’s for my dog, Spike.Guys, say hello to my very old Spike.

Yawning with its tears coming out

All this dog does is sleep under my car all day long, and suck up to me and my mom for some affection. That’s it. He doesn’t bark at people, only to other animals that’s near to our gate, which is his territory. My mom and I are forever telling him to go bark or find rats together with my other dog, but what does Spike do everytime? He yawns, and doesn’t leave our side. Pathetic. He’s also super picky on his food. No bland food for him! Ish!

But I guess the only good thing about him is that he doesn’t mind getting tied to the chains, unlike our other dog.

I remember reading a post from somebody about the dog being so old, it could hardly stand up anymore (forgot who it was, I check out so many blogs on a daily basis). That was such a sad post, and I just can’t imagine Spike being that old and frail sounding. Hope my doggies will still have many years to go before their times are up.

Urgh. I’m emo right now. Must be that time of the month. Think better end this post now.

* Oh ya. Hafta sell my car soon too! Waaaa! My very first car is going to be sold off! So sad! *

How I Spent My Mooncake Festival Night

26 Sep

dinnerpic1.jpg

Parents, WeiChuen and I met up with our friends for dinner at Grace Point just now. They like to eat here because of the nice outdoor environment and good food. We, on the other hand, like to eat here because our relative has 2 stalls there LOL (more on this below..)

Was forced to take care of the table when everybody got up and checked out what to eat. And when they came back, they all passed me to be in charge of the food order tags. I especially like the one from Ethnic Sabah stall! Very unique! Guna sinduk nasi!

My young uncle also managed to join us for a chat after dinner, and FYI, he’s the chef in the Thai Stall, formerly owner (and chef) of Benitos Bistro in Jesselton Point (which is now called Pirates of Borneo)! Love the food prepared by him in the Thai Stall.. spicy gila, but sedap! This guy’s a genius in cooking other western dishes as well!

Anyway, after sending my parents back home, WeiChuen and I went over to CoffeeBean Damai to have a drink and read his latest car magazine..

Yummy.. tiramisu cake.. But still can’t beat the Tiramisu in Little Italy!

So now, here I am, back to being online. What a life I had right? And speaking of my life, the friends we had for dinner asked me again what I do for a living. Until now, I’m still unsure what to tell them exactly. Whenever I tell them, oh I’m a full time blogger, then they would say, what’s a blog? (my most dreaded question) or how to you get paid from blogging? and then I would have to tell them how I do it.

But WeiChuen made a mistake in telling quite a few people that I create websites for a living (which I do not at all!) and thus, I got stuck in helping them make their company websites, and I couldn’t say no. Argh! Anyway, I think I have ponder on this more on what to tell people in the future. Hmm…
